Brian Bain, Director

Brian Bain is a southern Jewish filmmaker born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. His recent credits include a regional Emmy for his documentary short film "Simon" and an episode of the new docu-drama series "In Search Of " for Fox/USA Networks.

Brian is also an award-winning commercial director represented by Los Angeles based Proscenium Pictures and in the South by Morrison Productions. His unique comedy style has garnered him national work for clients such as Miller Beer, Denny's and ABC.


Susan Levitas, Producer

Susan Levitas holds a B.A. in Theater and Performance Studies from New York University and a M.A. in Folklore and Folklife from the University of Pennsylvania. As a cultural consultant, she has documented community life and traditions in Washington, D.C., the Mid-Atlantic, and the South for the Smithsonian Institution, the Library of Congress, National Endowment for the Arts and several state arts agencies.

Susan researched, wrote, produced and directed the award winning film The Music District (1996) a one-hour documentary about African-American music traditions in Washington, D.C. She also produced Dirty Rice (1997), an independent feature film set in the Cajun prairies of south Louisiana. Susan is Vice-President of Programming on the Board of the New Orleans Film Festival.


Tim Watson, Picture Editor

Tim Watson has been working in independent video and film since 1989, editing both documentary and narrative programs. Most of his work now is as a documentary editor and producer, focusing primarily on production, structuring, writing, and editing. Prior to co-founding Ariel Montage, Inc.(Visit: www.arielmontage.com) in 1996, he worked for six years as program director at New Orleans Video Access Center, one of the nation‚s oldest non-profit media arts centers. He graduated in 1989 from Loyola University in New Orleans with a B.A. in communications.

Alex’s Director of Photography projects include the 1993 Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival – “Ruby In Paradise” starring Ashley Judd. Alex’s other D.P. credits include TV commercials for Amnesty International, Greenpeace, NFL Films, Sprint PCS, Radiofone, US Forest Service, Dixie Beer, New Orleans Police Department, Aucoin Hart Jewelers, and Sheraton Hotels. His film/musical endeavors (EPK, music videos and documentaries) include work for: Seven Mary Three, MasterP, Carl Perkins, Big Tymers, Sporty T, Wild Boyz, Cadie Curtis and Third Eye Blind. Skip Godwin C.A.S. , Sound Mixer

As a native New Orleanian, Skip has acquired an in-depth, hands-on knowledge of the unique flavor and rhythms of Louisiana music, which has led to recording and producing the Louisiana sound for international exposure. He got his start as a Jazz and Rock musician in New Orleans. From there, he moved to the other side of the microphone, working as a recording engineer and mixer for over 20 years. His work encompassed diverse musical styles such as Rock, Jazz, Cajun, Zydeco, Rhythm & Blues, Pop and Dixieland.

While working in studios from New Orleans to New York and Los Angeles to Miami, Skip had the opportunity to record and work with such artists as Aaron Neville, Patti LaBelle, Joe Cocker, Dr. John, James Taylor, The Meters, Eric Gale, Albert King, The Staple Singers and The Mighty Diamonds, working along with music producers Allen Toussaint, Alessandro Protti, Bud Dant, Michael Lang, Irving Stimler and Lloyd Price. It was during this period that he engineered and mixed the sound track for the motion picture "Pretty Baby" for producer Jerry Wexler, vice-president of Warner Bros. That project earned an Academy Award nomination.

Since 1984, he has been working as a production sound mixer on feature films, documentaries and national TV commercials. Projects include "Love Liza", "Delta Heat", "Netherworld", "Solitude Point", "Played In The USA", "US Navy", "Secret Deodorant" and the award-winning documentaries "Piano Players" and "Shalom Y'all". Skip has worked with Kathy Bates, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Terry O'Quinn and many others.

Jep Epstein, Composer

Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, Jep was enveloped by its rich, diverse, and plentiful music. For someone with musical inclination, there could scarcely be a better playground. He attended college at the University of Virginia, where he received a B.A. with Distinction in Art History in 1984. Upon graduation, Jep moved to Los Angeles, where he worked both as a composer and as a performing musician, amassing credits with NBC, ABC, FOX, Castlerock, and Hearst Entertainment. In the spring of 1993, Jep returned to New Orleans. Since that time, he has written themes for a number of PBS shows, and has also worked as a composer/sound designer on numerous award-winning commercial, industrial, and documentary projects. Larry Blake, Supervising Sounds Editor

Larry Blake is a supervising sound editor/re-recording mixer of such films as sex, lies, and videotape, love jones, Out of Sight, Erin Brockovich, Traffic, and Ocean’s Eleven.
